Linuxpeak supports many standard open source products as part of its SaaS portfolio, but at times organisations require custom development. There are many reasons why a non-IT company may need to develop software. Some of the main reasons are:

  • Unique business requirements
  • Lack of a suitable vendor product
  • Integration between systems
  • Modernisation of a legacy system

To fulfill such requirements, Linuxpeak's software development team is available for specific client projects.

Process and interface design

Before one line of code is written for a client, Linuxpeak assess the business process and existing (if any) software interface. Linuxpeak will then recommend whether an existing free or commercial product is suitable for the organisation's requirements.

Strategic development

If an organisation requires custom software development, it should still be as strategic as with any other type of software procurement. Linuxpeak never develops "band aid" software solutions. All software development is done is a concerted way that is coherent with existing (and future) directions of the organisation. Software development is strategic when it adheres to the following industry-standard guidlines:

  • Open source development practices
  • Leverage development tools and frameworks
  • Standards-based code
  • Product lifecycle management
